Nissan Repair: 1997 Quest, courtesyparts, glovebox

Question
The front blower has stopped working. The rear blower continues to work using the dashboard controls so, I would think, it is not a controller issue. The two fuses under the dash are good and the one in the engine compartment is as well. Where is the blower and how involved is the replacement? Thanks in advance, Paul

Answer
Paul,

The job takea about an hour.  The blower is under the dash, passenger side.  Remove the glovebox to gain access.  The blower is pretty cheap as parts go.  If you could wait you could source one from rockauto.com or courtesyparts.com  But, if getting the blower working is the main concern just pick up one locally.  Three screws hold the unit in place.  The cover will have to be removed first and then the three screws as well as disconnecting the harness.  Then drop the blower motor down and out.  Now, change the fan cage to the new motor and install it and put the cover, connector and glove box back on...  Now, in rare occurances the resistor might have blown.  But, these usually fail and the blower will only work on high.  You say yours does not work at all so I say the blower from what you have provided.  The resistor is just to left of the blower, on the case, and is held in with two screws.
