Nissan Repair: Transmission slippage on 02 altima, 2002 nissan altima, eastern central time

Question
I have just read to other questions from two other 2002 Nissan Altima owners that are having the exact same problem that I am. The transmission is slipping. It's both taking gears too quickly and jerking and too slowly and racing. Cerritos Nissan told me flushing fluids would fix it. There went $250 and right off the lot it still slipped. Then they had me replace the valve body, oil gasket and sensor... that was $1700 and it's still slipping. Now they want me to buy a new tranmission ($3700) because the valve body is clogged again and that Nissan transmission can not be rebuilt. What would clog the valve body? Can a Nissan transmission be rebuilt? I don't have a warranty and this is costing me more than the car is worth at this point. Can you please just give me some sort advise on what I should do? Thanks...

Answer
Stephanie,

I would call Nissan Consumer Affairs

Raise hell with them and tell them what you have told me.  The dealer should eat the cost of all previous work performed and apply the money to the new transmission.  They mis-diagnosed your transmission and have cost you a bundle.  Nissan North America should apply pressure so the dealer will work with you to get you a transmission that works.
