Nissan Repair: Nissan Frontier, nissan frontier, emissions test

Question
My 2000 Nissan Frontier bucks when its damp or raining. The check engine light has popped up and i failed my emissions test. How would i find a way to find out what the problem was? What is the procedures i would take?

Answer
Hi Courtney -

You have many, many sensors that cause the check engine light to come on. The sensors motor engine activity and if there are any irregularities, the light will illuminate.

With that said, the best way is to have an OBD (On Board Diagnostic) done. It is a machine that downloads the code and tells you what is wrong. many repair shops have it, Autozone is a good one.

Hope this helps -
