Nissan Repair: 89 D21 Nissan pick up, 2.4L engine, clutch plate, clutch release

Question
I need to replace the clutch release bearing as it is starting to "whine" more
often. Do I need to drop the trans to do it, or is there a cover plate to access it,
and change it out? Is it labor intensive on this truck? Thanks

Answer
Hi Tim -

Yes, transmission has to be removed. At the same time you should replace the clutch plate and disc, resurface the flywheel. It is quite labor intensive, especially if you do not have the proper tools and equipment.

Hope this helps -
