Nissan Repair: Clutch replacement on 1996 Nissan Maxima, clutch replacement, nissan maxima

Question
I have a 96 nissan maxima (Manual) that I am trying to replace the clutch.  I have been tryoing to find a detailed schematic that shows me how to do correctly.  I have never done a clutch before but know how to get to it just want to make sure I have everything in correctly.  So if you know a site that can refer to while working on it, it would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Hi Terry -

I normally use sites like www.autozone.com, or www.2carpros.com. Another option is to google "Nissan Maxima Clutch Replacement", and see what you come up with.

Also, when replacing the clutch, the best thing to do is order the clutch kit, which includes the pressure plate, bearing, and disc. It is a lot cheaper that way. Another suggestion is to resurface the flywheel. You will need to remove it and take it to a machine shop, but it is worth the effort.

Hope this helps -
