Nissan Repair: Nissan 300ZX electrical short, nissan 300zx, aftermarket radio

Have an exasperating with my 300ZX. Some type of electrical short is draining the battery. Trying to isolate the problem I checked the wiring under the console to see if any aftermarket (radio, extra lighter plug) connections were to blame. No change. It is an odd situation. Insert the key and all the lights come, wipers -- there is power. Turn the key and lights out - everything goes dead -- but the engine will start with an external power device. Any ideas? Also, the ABS light just started coming on and causing the brakes lock on and off intermitently. Related?Thanks

Either the ignition and/or the relay is mesing up causing the pwerto be killed.  Second, take the car to Autozone or Checker and get the electrical system checked for free. They have a machine to do the load test in the parking lot.  The ABS is a seperate issue.  I would check the brake fluid first and flush it and change it out.  Also, check all four wheels for the sensors.  If you disconnect the battery it will reset the system.  If the problemcmes back you are going to need to go to a shop and get the ABS code read.
