Nissan Repair: 98 nissan maxima repair, nissan maxima, squeeling

My '98 nissan maxima will not hold power, it can be jumped and moved about 2 feet then cuts off. Also the engine makes a loud squeeling noise, and did so while the car was running, we thought it was the belts but was not. Now the car will not run. Can you please tell me what is wrong with it?

OK, so are you saying that your engine will not idle (in park)? And now it will not start at all? Or, will it start and not go into gear?

The squealing could be coming from the transmission if it is blown.

Check the transmission fluid and let me know how it looks. If it is brown and smells burnt, then there is a good chance you will need a transmission overhaul.
