Nissan Repair: noise, stethascope, water pump

I recently changed my water pump on 96 maxima then started to hear weired sound it sort of sounds like a turbo whining sound as you push the gas to go faster it gets a little louder but doesnt go away so i replaced idler tension pulley still makes the noise also put a stethascope on everything but it was the loudest on the nut of idler pulley

Hi Justin -

Have you tried removing the belt and seeing if the sound still exists? You can kind of isolate the problem that way. While you have the belt off, spin the water pump pulley by hand. If there is resistance, then looks like you have to remove and inspect the pump.

The other common bearing noise usually comes from the alternator, however I assumed you took your stethoscope there -
