Nissan Repair: How much, 2002 nissan altima, nissan altima

I am looking at a 2002 Nissan Altima but it has about 195,000 miles on it. Show much do you think I should pay for it. Also would it be safe If I drive from Florida to Jersey. What should I do. This is my first car also..

Hi Ben -

Please go to the Kelley's Blue Book website at www.kbb.com. It will ask you several questions about the car you are wanting to purchase, and will give you an accurate cost. I punched in some numbers for you and I came out with (car being in average condition), about $5,500 with that mileage. Of course, i was only guessing on where you are located, car options (such as power windows, automatic, A/C, etc), and exterior condition of the car.

As for driving, Altimas are highly dependable, so it should be OK. Please keep in mind that I am not there to see the car, or inspect it, for that matter, so I really cannot give you an accurate diagnosis. Sounds like a nice drive - If I lived on the mainland, I would certainly drive cross country.
