Code P0455 means "Evaporative Emission Control Syatem Leak Detected".
Looks like you have some kind of small vacuum leak, or obviously, a defective EEC component.
This is not a serious issue, and will not really affect performance of the engine, however depending on where you live, the engine light must be cleared before the car can be registered.
Anyway, what I would do is reset the engine light by removing the negative battery cable for about 1 minute. Replace it and drive it normally. If the light returns, you have a "hard code" and should be taken in to a repair shop to inspect.
As for the cost, there are many components to the EEC, so if you find out what it is, and let me know what the estimate is, i will be glad to tell you if it is in the ball park or you are getting taken for extra dollars.
Again, it is not a serious issue, so take your time in finding a reputable place.
