Nissan Repair: 1997 Nissan Altima check engine light is on, nissan altima, egr valve

Hi,

I have a 1997 Nissan Altima. The problem is the check engine light has come up again. I had a similar problem previously and a month ago i replaced the EGR valve and Knock sensor. But again the check engine light is on.

I took my car to Autozone for retrieval of error codes and i got the error code as P0400.

What would be the cause for this and can you please suggest me where can i get my car inspected for free or at minimal cost and get it repaired too.

Hi Siri -

P0400 is EGR flow malfunction.

Might want to ensure that the EGR valve was installed correctly, and there is no restriction (gasket in the way, exhaust is clear). Try resetting the code and see if the light returns.
