Nissan Repair: Wont take the gas in drive, full throtle, wiggle test

1993 Maxima v6 the car idles fine and takes the gas in park.When I try to drive the car it sputters and dies down,if I can get to full throtle it will run.No engine codes.Read your answers was leaning toward MAF.Replaced MAF with no change.Did the wiggle test no change.New tune up wires cap plugs dont know where to go now please help.

If there are no codes and the MAF was not the issue you need to be looking at the converter to see if it is plugging up and to see if the automatic converter is locking while at idle.  If you have a Haynes Manual or a factory service manual you can see where the connector is for the converter lockup.  Unplug and see if it will run.  On the converter is is a matter of unbolting the converter at the front and see if it is melted inside or just run without it.  If the converter is defective, as in melted, replace it.
