Nissan Repair: Seat Belt Issues, nissan primera 1998, radial runout

Question
I had an accident in which the front airbags deployed. Since then, the front seat belts are not working. I have replaced them (the airbags and belts)and I still have the same problem - it seems like they have locked up. Could you tell me the problem as well as solution. The car is a Nissan Primera 1998 CVT p11 it also looks like an Infinity G20. I have also had to change the front axle but am still hearing a grinding sound. Please help.

Answer
Carcelia,

The seatbelts have a locking feature and that is probably the issue with them.  I am goin gto assume you have regular belts and not automatic ones.  You will need to get access to the rollup real and unlock it to get the belts to work freely.  The grinding in the front is probably the wheel bearings.  I would get the car up on a lift or jacks and spin the tires by hand and feel for binding.  Other causes of grinding could be the brake pads if the bearings are allowing radial runout on the assembly.
