Nissan Repair: No spark from distributor, knock sensor, rotor

Question
QUESTION: I am not getting any spark or anything from my distributor.

Ive checked fuses, grounds, replaced ditributor rotor, cap, wires and plugs. Still no spark.

Only thing not connected is my knock sensor.
Please help!!

ANSWER: David,

Hook the knock sensor back up.  Second, pull the distributor and disassemble it and look for the presence of oil on the optical shutter wheel.  Also, be sure to make sure the ignition fuse and relay are working before checking the distributor.

QUESTION: From what i was told... is that if you pull the distributor off, and u spin it slowly, you should hear a small clicking noise.  Im hearing a very slight grinding noise.  So does this mean my distributor is shot???

Answer
David,

If you hear a grinding noise something is a miss.  You should remove the cap, rotor, rotor post and cover and look at the optical shutter wheel.  There is probably oil on it and the optics are contaminated.  That would mean a replacement of the distributor.
