Nissan Repair: CA18de knock sensor specs, ca18de engine, volt ohm meter
QuestionHello, my CA18de engine won't drive under 3000rpm. It just hesitates (really bogged down) untill around 3000rpm then takes off sweet. I cleared fault codes on ecu and took it for a drive. It keeps bringing up 34 which is knock sensor. What resistance should i get between the sensor and ground? thanks in advance, craig.
AnswerCraig,
The knock sensor is common to fail on Nissan's. You are going to need a Haynes Manual or a factory service manual for your specific year to get the proper values. I can tell you from experience you are looking at replacement and you would be done. I have never ohmed one out since when the code is thrown the part is defective. Only once, when a rat had eaten wiring was the knock sensor actually good.
Average knock sensor values for Nissans is between 500 - 620 K ohms
You will need a digital volt ohm meter to perform the test.
