Nissan Repair: Dash lights, nissan sentra, blubs

Question
I have a 91 Nissan Sentra. A while back the dash lights started going out, the middle blacked out first then the sides where the speedo and tach are. Every couple of days one side would light back up. It has been aboout a year since I have seen any lights in the dash. All the other lights on the car work great. The dimmer swithch still dims the clock, all the fuses are good.

Answer
Matt,

This is going to suck.  You will need to remove the cluster and replace the bulbs.  To do this you will need to pull the knee bolster and then remove the two bolts that hold the column up.  Let the steering wheel sit on the seat.  Now, remove the cluster cover and the four screws that hold the cluster.  Pull the cluster and disconnect the harness.  Pull the burnt out bulbs and go to Radio Shack for replacements.  Nissan wants like $10 bucks for two bulbs.  Radio Shack sells the blubs for about $1 each.  Replace the blubs and reassemble the cluster and you should be done.
