Nissan Repair: 1995 300zx convertible trunk, lock cylinder, 300zx

Hello, my trunk will not open- key manual, or release buttons. Remote release is pushed, it sounds like its trying..the motor growls..but nothing. Thanks in advance for direction...i tried applying pressure to the hatch, lubricating through the keyhole..etc.

If the lock cylinder will not open the trunk there is going to have to be some intervention.  That is, the lock is going to have to be accessed from the other side.  It sounds like the mechanism is broken or worn out.  You could try pulling up as you do the lock and have someone do the manual release at the same time.  Otherwise, you will end up unbolting things to gain access.
