Nissan Repair: 85 nissan 720 Z24I TBI, nissan 720, safety relay

engine started pinging in the morning and steadily became worse coming home barely made it. believed it was bad fuel. replaced fuel filter and plugs. hasnt run since. computer diagnoses says idle switch throttle switch neutral switch. it tries to start with fuel line disconnected. when i connect fuel line nothing. the fuel pump runs for about 5 seconds and shuts off. is my safety relay causing this.

Sounds like the throttle position switch needs replaced.  That should solve the starting problem.  The neutral switch would only cause the starter not to turn the engine over.  Replace the TPS and reset the code by the screw or by disconnecting the battery for five minutes.  Check it out and email me back.
