Nissan Repair: Car wont start, nissan 300zx, power antenna

Question
Hi, I own a 1995 Nissan 300ZX 2+2 with 55,100 kms. It currently is in
storage for the winter but I start it up every 2 weeks. Last week it wouldn't
start up. All you hear is click, click, click very fast. The interior instrument
lights are dim, the power antenna goes up very slow and the headlights work.

I used booster cables and it still wouldn't start. Should I have waited at least
10 minutes before starting up the dead car? I only waited a few minutes. The
battery is 7 years old. Thanks for any input. Karl

Answer
Hi Karl -

Try this test -

With the lights on, try starting the vehicle. If the clicks are not as fast, or the lights suddenly shut off, then it is the battery, which I think it is.

The other one is could be the starter if the battery checks out.

If the battery is 7 years old, I would change it anyway, as the avergae life is way less than that - about 2 years.

Hope this helps -
