Nissan Repair: Cold starting problem, mass airflow sensor, nissan cars

Question
Hello Von, I have a 94 Maxima that at start-up  in the morning sometimes will turn over but no fire-up. if first starting failed, the engine can not be fired up in that day. This only happens when the engine is cold. Once the engine in warm, it will start normally. I found it depends on temperature. When the weather is very cold and freezing, no problem at start-up, but around 0 C, the problem usually happens at first starting.

Answer
Soren,

Nissan cars are sensitive to cold and sometimes do not like to start.  I would first use a fuel additive to make sure there is no water in the fuel.  A change of the fuel filter would help this since water gets trapped.  Too cold and the water freezes and you get no gas.  Other causes are the mass airflow sensor and even the relay to the fuel pump.  Things do not like to operate when really cold.  Check these out and email me back with what you find.  Also, if you can park in a garage or by a building to block the wind will also help.
