Nissan Repair: 1989 Nissan Pickup, nissan pickup, fuse box

Question
1989 Nissan Pickup.
For a couple of weeks when I switch from low to high beam the left headlight took a few seconds to come on. Finally the left high beam stopped coming on completely. The low beam still worked. I changed the bulb (9004) but the high beam still will not come on. The right side is not effected. Is there a fuse for each side? What could be the cause of this problem? Thanks for any help.

Answer
Hi Ron -

Try checking in the large circuit fuse box. This is located in the engine compartment, usually on the fender of the vehicle. It should be labeled high beam/low beam, as well as left/right.

Using a 12V circuit probe light tester, you might want to check voltage going to the light (with low beam, one wire should have voltage, with high beam, two should have power). If they have power, then you may want to check the socket and wire connections.

Hope this helps -
