Nissan Repair: 1995 Altima - Eating Distributors, crankcase pressure, nissan altima

Question
Since February 2007 my 1995 Nissan Altima has been eating distributors; on 12/1/08 I had the fourth one put in.  Typically, the car will die after driving maybe a mile (usually on a road where AAA can't go, but that's just me whining), and won't restart.  I'll have it towed to my mechanic, who will change out the distributor, and it'll be fine, until the next time.  I can't say with any certainty about the condition of the other distributors, but the last one had no oil on the optical sensor, but MAY have had a few fine metal shavings inside the body.  It doesn't always have codes, but recently it died and I was able to restart it fairly soon after, and it threw codes 340 325, which my mechanic says are cam sensor and oxygen sensor.

New plugs, distributor cap, rotor, wires, fuel filter put in 7/2/07 (when the distributor that had been replaced in February died).  The O2 sensor was first replaced  in 2002, and has been replaced again since (I can't find the paperwork, but I'm almost certain it was in 2008).

It doesn't seem right that I have gotten three bad distributors; any ideas?

Answer
Chad,

If the distributor is blown again I would look a doing a compression check to see if there is so much blowby that the crankcase pressure is pushing oil up the distributor shaft and past the seal.  If this is not the case and the electronics are blowing I would be looking at a different rebuilder for the distributor.
