Nissan Repair: 2000 Infiniti I30t stalling when braking, mass airflow sensor, d light

Three months ago I purchased a new battery and alternator as my car suddenly showed multiple lights on the dashboard.  No issues until now.  Yesterday on drive to office at 50+ mph, the radio suddenly turned on twice by itself.  Then on drive home the same day at dusk, upon merging onto freeway, during stop and go traffic, the car would shut down when applying brakes.  The airbag light and the o/d light would come on and all other dashboard lighting shut down.  The car would immediately restart and drive fine until braking to stop for stop and go traffic.  This did not happen everytime I had to stop but happened 4 times during a 45 minute commute.  I was able to put the car in neutral and apply gas to stop the engine from shutting down completely.   Mechanic says alternator is good even though it is aftermarket alternator and not Infiniti alternator.  He was able to recreate the shut down and restart during test drives but unable to find any short in electrical or resolve the problem. He is baffled after looking at it 2 days. I see you are excellent in this car type - can you help?? best, Ray

Have him replace the mass airflow sensor.  Just did one on an I30 that did the same thing.  The car would not maintain an idle after braking.  But, no codes...  Checked the mass airflow sensor and it was defective; even no code was thrown...  Have him check it first.
