Nissan Repair: smoking 1998 nissan sentra, nissan sentra, head job

Question
Von, recently I started my vehicle up that i had the engine out for a few months. It started up fine, idle fine and drove fine. Then about a week it gave off that whit smoke. I was convince by a friend to get a head job. That did not stop the smoke then we agreed it was sticking rings. We put it some additives and the smoking is about GONE. Next one day the to heater hose to the intake burst and I change that. Since then the car runs hot, change radiator no leaks. One thing I notice is that if the car is cold and pour water while it is on the water is force back up and not goes down. I was told now that maybe the head job was not proper and I have a funny feeling the gasket might be wrong. HELP Please!

Answer
Kingsley,

I am almost certain that you have an internal leak like a headgasket.  But, you did replace that so we need to look further...  An interesting situation to be sure.  I would get a CO2 check to see if you have exhaust gas getting into the water.  Costs about $20 bucks for the kit to be sure.  You either have a defective headgasket or a crack somewhere.
