Nissan Repair: Alternator, amplifiers, maxima

Question
I start my maxima and it will run for a sec then the airbag light comes on then all the electronics go out . I just put a system in my car . Is that my alternator ?

It could well be the alternator.  I would first recheck your connections.  Make sure you have grounded all amplifiers or they can backfeed and blow all kinds of things in the car.  And, I mean ground with the same gauge cable that you are feeding power to them with.  Also, make sure the ground is clean and free of paint and you are using a star washer.  I have seen cars where the amp backfeeds and blows the alternator, lights and anything electrical that is on, at the time.  Disconnect the system, where you tied into the car and try to start the car.  Also, be sure not to tie into the airbag circuit for power as it will screw with the computer on the car.
