Nissan Repair: Pathfinder 2000, break lines, performance brake

Question
Hi...hoping you can help me out. I have Pathfinder 2000. I had breaklines go recently. I took the car to a Mechanic who put in new break lines and a new master cylinder. The proble is that the back breaks seeeem to be working but the front do not. The pedal travels almost all the way to the floor before it breaks. Now if I pump my breaks very quickly, it seems that all the breaks do work but then after I break the pedal returns to not working properly. He seems to having a very difficult time figuring out what is wrong with the system. Is there something that he is missing?...Any advice would be appreciated..Thanks

Answer
Ken,

Either you have air in the lines or the new master cylinder is defective.  I would bleed the brakes with Ford High Performance Brake Fluid.  If that does not do the trick replace the master cylinder.  I have seen seen remanufactured master cylinders fail before.
