I have a 93 2.7l deisel turbo and it does not get into top gear, only revving at 3ooorpm at 80 km per hour. any suggestions?

Top gear, overdrive and the lockup torque converter, need to sense that you are at speed and at temperature before they will apply.  I would look at the sensor under the hood for both of these.  Otherwise, the harness connector is not making good connection.  You could have a shop read the codes for the transmission and see if there are internal problems.  But, usually it is a sensor that will not command the transmission to go into top gear and lock the converter.  A defective temperature sensor can also cause this since the vehicle has to be warm to go into top gear and lock up the clutch.
