Nissan Repair: nissan maxima 2001 ses light, nissan maxima, auto parts store

Bought a used 2001 Nissan Maxima several months ago. My Service Engine Soon light is now steadily on, and a local auto-parts store scanned it and came back with P1126. Any ideas? thanks in advance.

P1126 is a thermostat malfunction.
Is the vehicle overheating?

In any case try replacing the thermostat, clear the code by removing the ECM fuse for about 10 seconds, and then you should be fine.
