Nissan Repair: 1994 J30 humming after turning off, metal hoses, performance brake

Question
Hello, Earlier today after shutting off my 1994 J30 I noticed a humming from under the hood.  After opening I found it was a black box near a solid metal block with a number of metal hoses running from it near the back left of the engine compartment (looking from the front).  I disconnected the black connector on the battery briefly and when I touched it back the humming continued.  So I left it off longer and the second time it didn't come back on.  I've never had this issue.  Any ideas what this is and how easy/hard to fix?  I'm afraid it will run the battery down if I let it go.  Thanks for any help, Bob

Answer
Bob,

Sounds like your antolock brake system is running on after you turn the car off.  I would first flush the brake fluid with Ford High Performance Brake Fluid and then disconnect the battery for five minutes to clear the code.  There is a code set even though there is no light on.  If this does not correct the problem replace the ABS fuse.  Email me back if you need more.
