Nissan Repair: inop temperture gauge, nissan altima, fuse switch

I own a 2000 Nissan Altima Gxe i have a problem it the temperature gauge that it has stop working. my other gauges(rpm,speedometer,and gas gauge) are working well. what can it seem to be the problem. is there a fuse switch that i need to change? give me an advice,

Either the gauge as failed or the temperature sensor itself.  The cheap way and the easiest first thing is to ground the connector at the engine and see if the gauge moves.  If it does replace the sensor.  If not it will be the gauge.  A wrecking yard is a good source for a gauge since the dealer will want as much just for the gauge.  Also, when you check the system as I have mentioned the key has to be on for the gauge to read.
