Nissan Repair: 1995 Nissan Pthfinder XE, mahalo, engine compartment

Just recently as I accelerate there is a thumping when I get to about 60 mph. Anything higher my speed drops. so I maintain about 50-60 on highway. I am afraid the max will drop to 45 or so what should I do?

I need more info. Where is the sound coming from? Is it from the engine compartment, or more like near the tires? Does the frequency of the thunmping increase with speed? When you try to go faster than 60, does the car shake?
