Nissan Repair: Pathfinder Temp Gauge Stuck, water jacket, water outlet

2001 Pathfinder temp gauge stuck on high, runs fine.  Guessing this is the sending unit?  Where is sending unit located? How difficult is it to change? Thanks for your help!

Hi Kris -

Could be the sending unit or the gauge itself. However most likely the unit. Look for a hex shaped probe going into your water outlet that has one or two wires attached to it. Some model Pathfinders are screwed into the intake manifold water jacket.

If you remove the wire and the gauge goes back down, then it is probably the sending unit.
