Nissan Repair: 2005 Nissan Maxima -- Tailights, 2005 nissan maxima, amp fuse

Question
QUESTION: I have to running lights .. Brake and turn yes..  The dash (speedo) lights also are on bright, and cant be adjusted.. any ideas..

thanks
James

ANSWER: James,

This sounds strange to me.  The dash lights not being able to be dimmed is the dimmer switch and the back parking lights should be the master switch (headlight switch).  Can't imagine them going out on a car so new.  You might check the bulbs to see if they both failed at the same time...  Email me back and let me know what you find.

QUESTION: I have NO running lights ..

I found the 15 amp fuse in the fusible links area (block) on the passenger side was blown.. This car has three (3) different fuse block areas.. (under the dash, engine compartment on drivers side and again in the engine compartment on the passenger side under some plastic covers.. I changed it and it acted funny at times.. BUT everything was working as it should.. I then tried to replace the relay and couldn't get it apart.. SO i gave up.. I apparently did something, it is NOW working and NO issues.. STRANGE..

thanks
James

Answer
James,

Yes, there are some hidden fuse boxes?  I do not know why Nissan does this.  I ahve a 350Z and it is the same.  Oh, this could be attributed to a loose ground.  So, if it happens again, look to make sure the ground at the battery is good.  This is the one that goes to the body as well as those in the trunk.
