Nissan Repair: auto-manual transmission swap, neutral safety switch, haynes book

Question
My friend and I are learning mechanics. one of our jobs is fixing up a 1995 nissan maxima. the guy had changed his stock automatic transmission to a 5 speed manual. the car does not start. we believe it could be a problem with the neutral safety switch. it did pull some codes but we dont kno what to plug any of the sensors in to. let me know any ideas you have.

Answer
Dusty,

Yes, there is a starter inhibit on on the automatic shifter that was removed.  Get a Haynes Manual and trace the wires back to where the neutral safety switch was and if you have it you could simply plug it in and shift it to neutral and start the car.  If not, tie the two wires together and the car should start.  Buy that Haynes book since it has the wiring harness and color codes.
