Nissan Repair: code: PO745 2003 Nissan Sentra, nissan sentra, clutch packs

Question
This code has appeared on my daughters car. The car shifts hard between 1-2. When I plugged my scanner in, It also said Pres Cntrl sol. A Circuit Malfunction. I have read on-line about a wire possible commong loose and has to be soldered back. The car has almost 73,000 miles. HELP!

Answer
Randy,

The code is related to line pressure in the transmission where it is sensed at the valve body.  This is going to be a transmission repair.  If you are into doing it yourself the valve body is inside the transmission pan.  Remove the pan, but if there is not something obvious, like that loose wire you were talking about, you are looking at reassembly, refill with fluid and going to the transmission shop anyway, Me? I hate to work on front wheel drive transmissions and outsource the work to my local Cottman shop.  I have had good luck with them over the years and in three differet states.  Just my two cents, but you know what the code means now.  That is the pressure control solenoid thing you were discussing in your question.  That controls the pressure to shift and the pressure to the clutch packs and servos.
