Nissan Repair: dash cluster /intermitant wiper switch, n13 pulsar, haynes manual

i replaced my non tacho cluster with one with a tacho on my ld astra/n13 pulsar and the tacho didnt work also the ecm light came on reverted back to standard cluster again no ecm light came on are they a direct replacement

No, they are not direct.  However, you can check the pinout and hook up the tach lead at the coil and get things working.  The ECM light probably came on from the lack of tach feed from the new cluster.  If you have it connected, you are going to need a Haynes Manual to trace the wires, and then hook it to the coil tach lead.
