Nissan Repair: 1996 Infiniti G20 Hard Starting (occasionally), 1996 infiniti g20, rod bearings

Question
My 1996 Infiniti G20 is hard starting if it is left outside for a few days (instead of in the garage).  After the car is warmed up, it starts perfect.  When it is hard starting, it turns over fine.....just won't start.  I keep trying for several minutes, then after a while it starts.  The only computer code problem I got was for a Knock sensor.  Cleared out the code (reset).  How would I go about checking the fuel pressure?  Could the distributor cap be getting some condensation from being left outside overnight?

Answer
Cindy,

I would go with the condensate in the distributor cap as a first thought.  A tuneup should solve the problem.  I would also repace the knock sensor since if it is resident in the codes, even if the check engine light is off, your mileage will be decreased.  Plus, if the knock sensor is defective it could damage you engine if it allows too much advance on the timing.  Spark knock and messed up rod bearings are a result.  So, change that knock sensor soon...  Email me back if you need more.
