Nissan Repair: 1986 300 zx, engine compartment, power windows

QUESTION: My passenger window went about a quarter of the way down and it made a loud Buzzing noise and then it quit working. and now the window will not go up or down and i dont know how to fix it, or what is wrong with it. can u please help me... Thank You


ANSWER: Hi Jeremy -

Looks like the motor burned out and possibly blew the fuse. Check the engine compartment and find the box near the fender that holds all the relays and large circuit fuses. If the fuse is blown, then replace it and the window motor.

Hi Jeremy -

The power windows do not normally work on relays, it is the fuse I am asking you to check. The other one is the motor overload could have kicked in and cut off the power to the motor.

In any case, looks like you need a new window motor. I assume the driver's side window is working all right?
