Nissan Repair: ecm relay location, fuel pumps, fump

Question
Hello, 2000 sentra wouldn't start one morning. Would turn over fine, but the fuel pump would not run. With the key in the on position, there is no SES light. I hooked up a code reader and  it would not link up. Want to check the ecm relay first but am having trouble finging it and want to get an idea of where it might be before dismantleing the dash. Any help?
Thanks,

Answer
John,

Most probably the fuel pump or relay is defective.  The ECM relay is located under the dash.  But, I would try a different scanner before doing this.  The ECM is usually bulletproof.  Most of the time, the fuel pump cooks in the tank since it is cooled by the fuel and most people fun the tank at a quarter or less for extended periods.  I have cooked too many fuel pumps so when I get to a quarter I fill the tank...  Anyway, I would first replace the relay and if the fump does not run you could ground the relay to be sure before replacing the fuel pump.
