Nissan Repair: 86 NISSAN 300 ZX, nissan 300 zx, air meter

Question
IF THE IGNITION SWITCH IS BAD WILL THE CAR START IF YOU USE STARTING FLUID I HAVE REPLACED EVERYTHING EXCEPT COMPUTER AND IGNITION SWITCH ALL FUEL ENGINE AND IGNITION PARTS ARE NEW

Answer
Katherine,

If the engine starts with starting fluid that would lead me to think there is an issue with fuel delivery.  Either the fuel pump is defective or the injectors are leaking and flooding the engine.  If you disconnect the air intake to spray fluid remember that it has to be reconnected for the engine to run.  The air meter has to be connected to monitor air and if it is not connected the engine will die.  Also, make sure the clamps are tight and the hose is not cracked between the air meter and the throttle body.  Email me back and let me know how it goes...
