Nissan Repair: 2003 Maxima- drivers power window, lithium grease, wd 40

Question
A safety feature prevents the window from closing if it detects an object blocking it's path.  My window goes to the top and then returns about 1/3 of the way- as if something is blocking it's path.  To close it I have to use short button movements until I inch it to the top.  Is there some type of pressure adjustment for the safety feature or a detector in the track that may need cleaning?

Answer
Mike,

Sounds like the track and guides are dry and need lubrication.  I would remove the door panel and Armorall the rubber tracks and use lithium grease on the guide and regulator along with WD-40 to get things freed up.  The window motor is a stepper motor and as such it will sense the dry condition as an obstruction and back the window down.
