Nissan Repair: slow cranking, nissan maxima, autozone

Question
Hi Von.  My problem in my 2000 Nissan Maxima is it has intermittent slow cranking the cranking is uneven such that it hesitates and then drags. Starter recently changed but still has dragging intermittent start. Talked to a mechanic today and he says it is the starter i told him the starter is brand new he asked me about aftermarket starter put in but how would i know if it was an aftermarket starter. I don't want to take the car to him and he will want to put in another starter the last one cost 350 Could this be a bad cable ground connection to my battery?? Please help me fix this problem Von and has my mother would say. I will dance at your wedding.:)

Answer
Tammie,

I would get the starter checked as an intermittent drag indicates something being wrong with the starter.  You could check the cables.  But, if you remove the starter you could get it checked for free at Autozone or Checker and then you would know for sure.
