Nissan Repair: 99 Nissan Altima mystery cable, nissan altima, battery cables

Question
Nissan Repair: 99 Nissan Altima mystery cable, nissan altima, battery cables
Nissan Battery Compart
I purchased a 1999 Nissan Altima recently with a blown engine.  I have installed a new engine and I am trying to figure out the battery connections.  The previous owner had broken the positive terminal when trying to figure out the engine troubles.  As you can see in the attached image of the battery area, there are three cables.  A negative (yellow circle), a positive (white circle), and an unknown (red circle).  The unknown cable is coming out of the fuse/fuse link center in the photo and this cable is black with a red stripe and is the same diameter as the battery cables.  Do you have an idea as to where this cable should connect?  I have even tried calling the local Nissan dealer and they were no help.  Thank you for your time.

Answer
Hi Mike -

That wire also connects to the positive cable. If you place them together, they should fit perfectly when you line the holes up. I believe this wire is to supply power to the large circuit items and fusible links.

Hope this helps -
