I replaced my transmission and my car is still cutting off when I put it in drive or reverse.  WHY?

Hi Linda -

I do not think this is the transmission - Is this the reason why the transmission was changed in the first place? If so, you had a bum recommendation.

I think the car needs a tune up - could be even as simple as an idle speed adjustment. Could be a leaking vaccuum hose too.

Need more info for an accurate answer - Dos the car miss while driving? Up hills, under acceleration, or just coasting. After it dies, can you restart it and place it in gear, does it die again or eventually idle?
