Nissan Repair: Dash removal, nissan pickup, time and patience

Question
The dash in my 1990 nissan pickup is all cracked & brittle. I would like to know how to remove the complete dash & replace with another one.

Answer
HI James -

This is a rather large project that requires a lot of time and patience. I assume you have the proper tools -

Almost everything under your dash has to be removed to gain access to the hold down bolts for the dashboard. Instrument panel, radio, glove box, A/C vents, wires and ducts behind the dash, There are also a lot of wires to remove as well. Mark each one carefully before removal so they can be ID'd later on.

Have you purchased the new dash already?

Thanks for the comment. Good luck on your project. You must be a patient person. Just take each component separately and do one thing at a time, and you will have the job done in no time. As I mentioned, proper labeling of wires is the key in a sucessful repair.
