Question
the positive battery cable has what appears to be a square
plate fuse like item hooked  to the cable it moves and the car loses power. you have to move it to start vehicle  it also has some corrosion. can you purchase the cable, or how do you repair it?

Answer
Hi Forrest -

The cable cannot be repaired. It is damaged by battery acid corrosion. Purchase a new one from the dealer, and you can install it yourself if you have the tools, or, of course, you can have it installed.

Bfore installation, remove the negative side of the cable. Connect to the starter first, and run the cable just like to original to the battery, securing as you go along. Once connected to the battery terminal, ensure it is clean and free of any acid or corrosiom. Clean with baking soda and water, and after connecting, coat the terminal with grease.

Hope this helps -
