Nissan Repair: 03 Altima high idle, throttle linkage, rpms

Hello and thank you.We just bought this car.When we first was running it, the motor idled at about 400 rpms now its idling at 1400-1600 rpms.The check engine light has not come on so I guess its not giving any codes.Any help would be useful.

Hi Stephen -

Looks like the throttle linkage is either binding somewhere, or the car is stuck in the "closed loop", that is, computer thinks it is still warming up. Can the car respond to idle adjustments? What happens if you turn your A/C on, does it change?
