Nissan Repair: fuse for cruise control, nissan sentra gxe, fuse boxes

Question
I recently bought a 1997 Nissan Sentra GXE with cruise control.  I purchased a Haynes manual and an owner's manual, but neither one tells which fuse is for the cruise control.   The light comes on when you press the main cruise control button on the dash to the left of the steering wheel, but when you press the steering wheel buttons nothing happens.  Haynes says to check the fuse first but fails to tell which one applies, and I don't see it on the the keys to the fuses on any of the different fuse boxes.

Answer
Vicki,

If the light comes on then it is not the fuse.  I would check the system.  If you have a manual there is a clutch switch that kills the cruise when you press the pedal.  Also, there is one on the brake pedal that does the same thing.  If you have an automatic the one for the clutch is not there.  If these switches are good then you are looking at the cruise module itself.  Now, you can look at the fuses under the hood in the two boxes provided for relays and fuses.
