Nissan Repair: nissan vanette instrument panel lights, nissan vanette, fuse box

Question
the instrument panel backlights of my nissan vanette turned off unexepectedly while i was driving home. the high beam indicator, hand brake indicator, empty gas indicator and the other indicators in the panel however are still working. i cannot see the speedometer, fuel gauge, rpm during my night driving. please help. what should be the most probable culprit? TIA :)

Answer
Hi Chris -

The most probable cause would be the fuse, especially if you had just installed a stereo, alram system, or anything electronic.

Fuse box is located under the driver's side dash and every fuse should be labeled. I believe it is "INST". Each fuse is made of plastic with a small metal connector attching each terminal. If this connector is burned, then replace the fuse.

Hope this helps
