Nissan Repair: a/c low pressure switch, pressure connector, pressure switch

Question
I have a 98 quest which appears to have a faulty a/c low pressure switch.  The high side and low side pressures are good and if I place a jumper on the low pressure connector, the a/c appears to work very well.  My question is, can the low pressure switch be replaced without evacuating the system?

Thanks,

Mark

Answer
Hi Mark -

No. The system must be evacuated, and probably flushed when replacing the switch. Your vehicle is 10 years old, so this may be a good time to flush and replace some components anyway, like the filter/drier, in line filter, accumulator, etc.

Hope this helps -
